Song of the day: Europe- Rock The Night
This song was written in 1984, by Joey Tempest, the singer of Europe. The band already performed the song during the concert tour of Wings of Tomorrow, the song itself was released on the album The Final Countdown in 1986. The year before it was already featured on the soundtrack of On the Loose. The song made it to number 12 in the UK and number 30 in the US. Enjoy

Song of the day: Don Henley- The Boys Of Summer
In 1984, the front man of the Eagles, also the drummer and the singer of the band, decided to make a solo album. The lead single of the album would chart in the Top 5 of the US and even at the top of the Top Rock Chart. In a lot of countries, it would be a minor hit. Although it has this status, it is mostly played a lot during the summer. That’s a bit strange, since it is about ageing, thinking and questioning the past (who does not do that?) and (here is the reason for playing it in the summer!) summer love in the choruses. Enjoy

Song of the day: ABC- When Smokey Sings
Yes, this is a song about a singer, called Smokey Robinson. When I read this on Wikipedia, I thought: and who was that? Never heard of the man… but it turned out to be an American R&B singer. He had some hits on the Motown label, but none of the songs were familiar to me. So I’m going to listen to his hits, see if anything is worth a song of the day. Until then, you have to do it with the hit by ABC. Enjoy:

Song of the day: June Lodge- Someone Loves You Honey
Number one, eighties, summer, bit of reggae: a perfect combination in this song. But June Lodge, about who I’m talking, was not only a singer. She also acted and made several art exhibitions.
However, I’m more interested in her musical performances. This song is definitely one of the best, and it brings up the summer feeling very well.
Let’s enjoy and don’t worry: someone loves you honey!!

Song of the day: Richard Harris- MacArthur Park
Remember I was writing about Donna Summer yesterday? I mentioned MacArthur Park, but actually I think the version by Richard Harris is better.
It’s a version from 1968, and I know what you are thinking now! You think: Richard Harris?
I know the name! An actor, right? And that is completely true! He was the one who played Dumbledore in the first two Harry Potter movies.
But now we are listening to the great song MacArthur Park, performed by Richard Harris!
Song of the day: Celine Dion- My Heart Will Go On
The last soundtrack as song of the day!
Maybe a bit too predictable, but okay, it’s a good song.
The song of today ment the breakthrough of the singer who sung the song.
It’s Celine Dion with My Heart Will Go On, the soundtrack from the movie with that sinking ship…
How was it called? mmm… Oh, of course! Titanic!
Song of the day: Laura Jansen- Queen Of Elba / Alexis Jordan- Acid Rain
Hello everyone,

Her new single is already released, and it is very good!
It’s Laura Jansen with Queen Of Elba!
You may have noticed that both artists are women, and that is for a reason.
Today it’s International Women Day, and for that reason I will later today release a post…

Song of the day: Tina Turner- Goldeneye
Hello there,
A new song of the day is waiting for you. It’s the theme song of the first James Bond movie with Pierce Brosnan.
Yes, you know it! Come on!
The name of the singer is Turner, Tina Turner. She sings about a weapon called Goldeneye.
In this movie, James Bond rides a tank! I like that part so much!
