In fact, he invited the drummer of the Style Council to play on his third studio album, Stanley Road. We also hear him on this song. The song had a number 9 position in the UK and a silver status. Song of the day: The Jam- Town Called Malice

In 1982, the Jam released their album The Gift. From this album, Town Called Malice would reach the number 1 position in the UK chart. It would be a double A-side, since Precious also became a hit! Quite some people suggest the title is a pun, referring to the book A Town Like Alice, written by Nevil Shute. Paul Weller said he had not read the book when he wrote the song, but he wrote it about his hometown Woking in his teenage years. I especially like the electric organ in the song! Enjoy

Song of the day: Tears For Fears- Sowing The Seeds Of Love

Tears-For-Fears-Sowing-The-Seeds

A worldwide hit in 1989, with a number 1 position in Canada, a number 2 position in the US and a top 5 position in the UK. According to Roland Orzabal, one of the people in the duo Tears For Fears, this was the most political song they ever recorded. It refers to Margaret Thatcher, who then just had another re-election. Orzabal was not very happy about this, he was working-class. He also refers to Paul Weller, who made political songs with the Jam, but with the Style Council these had faded. A great song, enjoy

The Style Council, a band from the eighties, had a big hit in 1984. The band existed of Paul Weller (known from the Jam) and Mick Talbot (known from Dexy’s Midnight Runners). Some other people joined and they regularly cooperated with other people. About the song is not much special information, apart from that it was made for a movie and that it is a great song. Enjoy
