Song of the day: Johnny Otis- Telephone Baby

Maybe this song was no big hit in the world at all, at least I had a lot of trouble finding any information on it. I now know it was from 1959. In the Netherlands, he had a hit with it, peaking at number 6 in 1960. Enjoy

Song of the day: The Outfield- Your Love

outfield lose your love

A song from 1985 today. It came from the debute album of the Outfield, but despite the band being British, they did not have success in their own country. Across the ocean, in the USA, they found a lot of success, where they reached a great number 6 spot in the hit chart. And I too think it’s a great song, so enjoy

Summer Song of the Day #6: Madonna- La Isla Bonita

Madonna la isla bonita

Mmm… do you remember the album by Madonna called True Blue? Yes? Really good, wasn’t it, huh?
It’s my personal favourite of her studio albums, and this song is one of my personal favourites by Madonna, too.
However, it could have been that not Madonna was here, but Michael Jackson. The song was firstly offered to him, but, according to Gaitsch, he refused taking the song for his Bad album.
Madonna got it after him, wrote the lyrics, and recorded it. The result? A very good Spanish summer sounding song which ended on number 6 in the Summer Song of the Day Top 20.
Not bad, is it?
