Song of the day: The Fifth Dimension- Aquarius/Let The Sunshine In

Back in the sixties, there was a very popular musical: Hair. The Fifth Dimension took two songs from the musical and made a medley out of it. The musical was made in 1967, but this medley appeared two years later, in 1969. It would be a number one hit in the US, staying for six weeks at the highest position! Aquarius is actually the era of love and happiness, which we would enter in the sixties… now they think it will happen after 2062… enjoy

Song of the day: Luis Cobos- Tempo D’Italia

In 1987, the Spanish composer and conductor made a new single. It would become a medley of all sorts of classical Italian pieces, which takes the listener on a 5 minute trip through the composers of Italy. And here comes the bad part (for me, that is): I simply have got no clue which songs he plays. Some I can determine, but it stops with one or two… if you have a clue, I’d like to hear it! For example: the first song sounds familiar, but I have no idea which song it is. However, it’s a great medley! Enjoy

Song of the day: The Stars On 45 Proudly Presents The Star Sisters

Oh yes! The Stars On 45. They had some wonderful medleys to make the old music popular again. And what nationality did they have? Exactly, Dutch!
One of the big hits they had was with the Star Sisters, who performed a medley with songs of the Andrews Sisters. Of course the original is always better, but they did a pretty good job. I will feature the Andrews Sisters sometime later this year, for now enjoy:
