FlinterFile: Talking Heads- Once In A Lifetime
In 1980, the Talking Heads released one of their biggest hits. It deals with not being happy with life, while there is nothing you can do to stop life from moving on. David Byrne, the leader of the Heads, took quite some lines from the evangelist radio, of which he thought they were useful directions. Brian Eno (yes, the producer of the U2) wrote the chorus and produced the song. The video is seen as a piece of art. It charted at number 14 in the UK. Enjoy

Song of the day: Annie Lennox- Why
After her time with Dave Stewart as Eurythmics, Annie Lennox went solo. In 1992, she released her first solo-album: Diva. This song was a single from that album, and it ended up on number 34 in the US. In the UK it did number 5 and it even hit number one in Italy! Lennox wrote the song, according to her, in ten minutes and it was about where she wanted to go in life. Enjoy

Song of the day: Des’Ree- Life
Okay, I will not talk about the lyrics of this song, because they are just bad. Or maybe not completely, but there are some lines which are not completely convincing:
“I don’t want to see a ghost
It’s a sight that I fear most
I’d rather have a piece of toast”
That’s not very good or logical, is it? However, it feels like the summer is coming a step closer! And it was a big hit in 1998! Enjoy

Song of the day: Foreigner- That Was Yesterday
Above you see the picture of the album Agent Provocateur from Foreigner.
It’s an album with a story. All the songs are about a spy, who takes a look at life.
If you listen to the album, there are different emotions in the album. The album also contains the biggest hit for Foreigner, I Want To Know What Love Is.
However, that is not the song of the day. The song of the day is the follow up of I Want To Know What Love Is, namely That Was Yesterday.
(You might think what happened to the new songs of the day. Unfortunately, I’m not doing that anymore, since it was a lot of work.)
