Song of the day: Guns N’ Roses- Sweet Child O’Mine

In 1988, Guns N’ Roses released the song Sweet Child O’Mine. According to Slash, the song started as a joke, when he was making funny faces and pulling the strings of his guitar a bit. He was asked to play the melody again, and then a bassline and beat were invented. The exercise soon changed into a song. When recording it, the producer said they should add a melody breakdown, but Axl Rose started asking “Where do we go? Where do we go now?” These were used as the lyrics in the breakdown. Released as a single, it came to number 6 in the UK and number 1 in the US. Enjoy
