Song of the day: Alle Farben- She Moves

alle farben she moves

Talking about 2014, this must be one of the stranger (but therefore nicer) records. It was the debute of the German DJ Alle Farben, with the vocals of Graham Candy. It has not reached the charts in the UK or the US, but did reach the Dutch charts on number 15! A good hit, enjoy

Song of the day: R.I.O.- Shine On

Today we have a singer from Germany, who can sing reggae! And he managed to score a hit in several countries, making it to number 1 in Russia and to number 8 in both Italy and France. However, his highest place in Germany was 25… It does not matter a lot to me, since I think it’s a great song he made. Enjoy

Song of the day: Sash!- Ecuador

Oh, how this band fooled me! They are a great band, made lots of great dance music, and I always thought: they are French. I mostly made this up, because of the single Encore Une Fois. How French can it be? But nothing like French is in there. They are German, like lots of great dance artists are. And they made a great song in my birth year, 1997. Enjoy

Song of the day: Peter Fox- Haus Am See

peter fox haus am see

I was thinking back to my first year of secondary school, my first year of lessons in German. My teacher was absolutely brilliant, and I was lucky to have her the three years after, too. She was the one who played this song for an assignment, and that was the day I thought: what a great song! We had to find out where it was about, so here it is:

Peter Fox is singing about a house by the lake where he wants to go to since he knows all in the city he lives in. He wants to go to the unknown, have a wife, 20 children and 100 grandchildren.

I don’t know if I’d be happy with 20 children and 100 grandchildren, but I am happy with his song! Enjoy:

Song of the day: Peter Schilling- Major Tom (The Major Tom Story)

Hi there,

Today a whole story!

Firstly, you might remember that one record made by David Bowie. A very good record, and it was called Space Oddity. In this song, you hear the story of Major Tom, who is going into space with a rocket, and everything seems to go fine, but then there is no contact anymore between earth and Major Tom. Nobody knows what happened to Major Tom, but probably he died.

However, we actually don’t know who Major Tom really was. In another record of David Bowie, Ashes to Ashes, Major Tom is no longer an austronaut, but he is a junkie.

But there was more: Peter Schilling gave us more information in his record Major Tom. It’s the same story as in David Bowie’s Space Oddity, but at least we hear a final message. And coming back to the song of the day, Major Tom (the German version) is the song of the day, and his message is for you to find out!

Tomorrow another record as song of the day!

Song of the day: Snap!- Rhythm Is A Dancer

Hello there,

Here’s the new song of the day!

The song of the day can be defined as dance track from the nineties. It was a German group with hits in mostly the first part of the nineties.

Of course it’s Snap! with Rhythm Is A Dancer.

Tomorrow we will go on with dancing, somewhere else than in the discotheque…

Song of the day: Liquido- Narcotic

Hi there,

Today a song which is one of my favourites from the nineties.
It’s a German band, and they only had one big hit: the song of today.

I’m talking about the band Liquido with their hit Narcotic.

I hope you like it, too!
