Song of the day: Madcon- Beggin’

In 2007, Madcon took an old song and covered it. The original of Beggin’ was made by Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons in 1967. It marked the return of Bob Gaudio writing songs, something he had not done for two years. The Norwegian duo Madcon took the song in the same year that it was remixed, and brought it back to the charts: It was number 79 in the US, number 5 in the UK and even number 1 in the Netherlands. Song of the day: The Four Seasons- Sherry

Looking through the hitlist of 1962, I came across this song by the Four Seasons. In December last year, I went to the performance of the Jersey Boys, which was absolutely perfect. I had a real good afternoon, and since they were in the hitlists in 1962, enjoy:

Song of the day: The Spinners- Working My Way Back To You

Yes, this is real disco! In the band, and that is the funny thing, was produced by a man called Michael Zager, who later formed the Michael Zager Band (Let’s All Chant). However, it was not an original song by the Spinners. The Four Seasons were earlier, 1966. Then the disco came along, the Spinners recorded the song and mixed it with a Michael Zager song, Forgive Me Girl. Teh medley became a disco hit. Enjoy:
