FlinterFile: Paul Davidson- Midnight Rider
The Allman Brothers Band released the song Midnight Rider in 1971.
The Allman Brothers Band took some time in a cabin to write new songs, and Gregg Allman felt free to smoke marijuana. He got inspired and wrote the song in an hour, with some help from the roadie in the third verse, where he had quite some troubles to write. Then they wanted to record the song immediately, but as it was the middle of the night, the studio was locked, so Allman broke into the studio to record a demo. In the end, Gregg Allman felt most proud of this song, it was the best he had written. However, the original version never charted, but covers did chart. The version of Paul Davidson was number 10 in the UK. Enjoy
