From 1976 on, the Cars were playing live shows. However, they didn’t have a hit – yet.That changed in 1978, when one song from their demo tape got played a lot on two radio stations in Boston. It would even be the most requested song in the history of WBCN, one of those radio stations. The band got signed to Elektra Records and re-recorded the song, to release it as a single. It was a number 27 hit in the US and number 17 in the UK. Enjoy
