The band Player made their debut in the charts in 1978.This song was written by the two founding members of the band, who had met on a party, because they both wore jeans – all other people wore white -: Peter Beckett and J.C. Crowley. The song was inspired by a girlfriend which Beckett had for five years and then broke up: the song expresses his feelings. The song would later be recorded by several artists and bands, like the Little River Band, which Beckett joined after Player stopped.
