FlinterFile: Wim Sonneveld- Het Dorp
In 1974, an older song by Wim Sonneveld was a hit.The song Het Dorp (the village) was written in 1965 by Friso Wiegersma. The music was taken from the song La Montagne by Jean Ferrat. The song remembers a village (probably Deurne) and how it was before it modernized. The song refers to certain things in the village, like “the garden path of my father” and how the singer, as a child, never could have thought it would all disappear one day. In 1974, after Wim Sonneveld died, it was a hit: number 27 in the Netherlands. However, it became one of the biggest Dutch classics. Enjoy
