FlinterFile: BLØF- Liefs Uit Londen
In 1998, the band Bløf released their first single. The singer, Peter Slager, had written quite some text, a sort of love story, about a man who thinks of his girl friend, who is traveling around the world. He gets letters and post cards from various destinations and in his head, he puts markers on the places where she has been. This idea came from a game he played a lot, in which you had to travel around the world and put a marker where you have been. The music came from Bas Kennis, who had it already when he was eight years old. Suddenly it seemed to fit the text. Though they thought it wasn’t really a single, the record compagny convinced them. It got quite some airplay and became a number 13 hit in the Netherlands. Enjoy
