FlinterFile: Billy Joel- Goodnight Saigon

Billy Joel wrote a political song in 1983.He didn’t do many of those, but was asked by a group of veterans to write a song about the Vietnam War. Billy Joel never had been in the army and therefore thought he couldn’t do it, but with the conversations he had with the veterans, he was able to write this song. He thought it was important, as the soldiers of Vietnam never got a welcome back and had (and still have) a difficult time coming back. The song never was a very big hit in the US or UK, where it was number 56 and respectively number 29. In the Netherlands, it was a number 1 hit. Enjoy
