FlinterFile: Creedence Clearwater Revival- I Put A Spell On You
This song originally dates back to 1956.In that year, Screamin’ Jay Hawkins recorded the song as a ballad about a girlfriend he wanted back. This version was slow and tame. A year later, he recorded a new version, in which the song had changed to a song about a man threatening to curse his girlfriend to have her. The song was much covered, by Nina Simone, The Animals, Alan Price and Creedence Clearwater Revival. They recorded their rocking version in 1968 and played it live on Woodstock in 1969. This version reached number 58 in the US, but was a number 3 hit in the Netherlands. Enjoy
