FlinterFile: Herman van Veen- Hilversum III
There once was a German song by the band Haindling, called Lang Scho Nimma G’sehn. This song never was a real hit in Germany, it made number 33 in 1984. It was never a hit in the Netherlands, but everyone knows the music of the song. It was used by Herman van Veen in his song Hilversum III, which had a Dutch text written by Willem Wilmink. The song is about the Dutch radio station Hilversum III, which mainly played modern pop music. In the song, there are memories of the time that this radio station didn’t exist, but everyone knew some classical music. The song made number 5 in the Netherlands in 1984. Enjoy
