FlinterFile: The Kinks- Plastic Man

For the Kinks, the year 1968 wasn’t that good. They hadn’t had any big hits in that year.Because of that, they wanted to have a real hit in 1969. The song Plastic Man was written, and as it was much like earlier hits like Dedicated Follower of Fashion, it would have to make it. The song was written, recorded and just a few days later, it was available in the record stores. There was one problem: in the song, the word ‘bum’ appeared and that caused the BBC to boycot the song. It therefore stuck to number 31 in the UK. In the US, it wasn’t even released… However, it is a great song, so enjoy
