FlinterFile: Joost Nuissl- Ik Ben Blij Dat Ik Je Niet Vergeten Ben
Joost Nuissl released his only hit in 1975.The song, about someone who hasn’t forgotten his old love (the title means: I’m glad I’ve not forgotten you), was sort of an accomplishment by the entire village in which Nuissl lived: The music was arranged by Nard Reijnders, the music was played by the local concert band and the ladieschoir of the village sang the backing vocals. It was recorded in a village nearby, in a psychiatric hospital, where they had an illegal recording studio in the cellar. The music publisher of Joost Nuissl heard the tape and knew: this is a hit. And he was right, the song reached number 7 in the Netherlands. Enjoy
