FlinterFile: Steely Dan- Do It Again
Steely Dan made their debut in the charts with this song in 1972.The song was written by Donald Fagen and Walter Becker, the two founders of Steely Dan. On the album, however, it was credited as a traditional (trad.). This, of course, was a joke, just like the lyrics, which don’t seem to make a lot of sense, although fate seems to play a big role… Still it made a great song, with the organ solo by Donald Fagen and the guitar solo by Dennis Dias (who later programmed the computers). It was number 39 in the UK and number 6 in the US, making it their first and biggest hit in the US. Enjoy
