FlinterFile: Nancy Sinatra & Lee Hazlewood- Jackson
Nancy Sinatra and Lee Hazlewood released their duet Jackson in 1967.In the same year, it had already been a hit for Johnny Cash and his wife June Carter, who recorded a country version of the song. The original however dates back to 1963, when Billy Edd Wheeler wrote it with Gaby Rodgers, a pseudonym of Jerry Leiber (writer of many hits like Hound Dog), who was the husband of Gaby Rodgers. The song is about a marriage of which both the wife and man say it isn’t that ‘hot’ anymore and that they want to travel to Jackson to join the nightlife. Which Jackson exactly is not quite known, though some claim it may be Jackson, Tennessee. Nancy & Lee had a number 14 hit in the US with the song. Enjoy
