R. Dean Taylor was a successful song writer, producer and singer at Motown.In 1972, he recorded the song Taos New Mexico on the Motown label Rare Earth. This song was about a man in prison in Taos, New Mexico, but all he wants to do is go home to Maria, his girlfriend. Unlike his earlier songs, Taos New Mexico didn’t become a big hit. It was number 48 in Canada, which was his home country, number 83 in the US and number 22 in the Netherlands. Enjoy
