FlinterFile: Simple Minds- Belfast Child

In 1987, there was a bombing in Enniskillen. A bomb of the IRA exploded during a Remembrance Day Service and killed 11 people. More than 60 people were injured. Two years later, in 1989, the Simple Minds released a song in which they try to relate to the people who lost someone. The words were written by them, the music was a traditional song, She Moved Through The Fair, which Jim Kerr heard a few days after the bombing. It was their only number 1 hit in the UK, and the longest number 1 after Hey Jude. Enjoy
