Johnny Tillotson released one of his most successful songs.He wrote this song, inspired by the terminal illness of his father. It was his first hit in the country charts (number 4), which made he recorded an album with covers of country songs. This song was also covered by quite some artists, including Elvis Presley and Billy Joe Royal. It was a number 31 hit in the UK and number 3 in the US. Enjoy
