FlinterFile: The Who- I Can See For Miles
This song was written by Pete Townshend, shortly after he met Karen Astley in 1967. A year later they would get married. The song was written as a reminder that even though Pete was on tour, miles away, he would be able to see her. The song was rarely played live, as the guitar of Pete Townshend was overdubbed and created a sound that was very difficult to play live. Townshend thought it was a great song, which would be a big hit, but he was quite disappointed when it didn’t do as well as he thought. It was a number 10 hit in the UK and number 9 in the US, their only top 10 hit in the US. Enjoy
