FlinterFile: Herman’s Hermits- Mrs. Brown You’ve Got A Lovely Daughter
This song started as a song in the TV-series The Lads. In an episode, Tom Courtenay sings this song, and Peter Noone, the singer of Herman’s Hermits, recorded this episode. With the band, they learned the song to play it on weddings, where they would customize the text. When recording their first album in 1964, they needed one more song and as time was running out, they decided to play this song, as they knew it so well. It was never intended to be a single, but then an American DJ started playing it and therefore the record label decided to release it in the US only. It became a number 1 hit for Herman’s Hermits in 1965, their first one. Enjoy
