Van Kooten en de Bie were a duo who made a lot of different programmes for television, in which they discussed the news playing a lot of different characters.One of the first things they did was ‘het Simplisties Verbond’, the simplistic union. Their first single and one of their biggest hits was about taking off your mask and finding your real self. The original was a country song by Waylon Jennings, Lay It Down. It was a number 6 hit in the Netherlands in 1975. Enjoy
