FlinterFile: The Four Tops- It’s The Same Old Song
The Four Tops had a number 1 hit in 1965 and so a follow-up single had to be written quickly.Holland-Dozier-Holland, the writing team of Motown, took the number 1 hit, I Can’t Help Myself, turned the bass around kept the feeling with a few different chords. More or less the old song, but with a better text, you could say. The text was about a breakup, but less sweet than the previous song. It became a number 34 hit in the UK and number 5 in the US. Enjoy
