FlinterFile: Heart- Magic Man
The sisters Ann and Nancy Wilson, who formed Heart, released their first top 10 hit in 1976. The song is about the guitarist of the band, Mike Fisher. Ann was in love with him and they both moved to Canada, as Mike didn’t want to get drafted for the Vietnam War. Mike would later become the manager of the band. In the song, they put a little conversation between Ann’s mother and Ann in the lines “Come on home girl”, with Ann responding that he is the magic man. The theme of the song is clearly being madly in love. The song would be a hit, making it to number 9 in the US. Enjoy
