FlinterFile: Lindisfarne- Meet Me On The Corner
Lindisfarne released their second album in 1971. This album became a commercial success. The album would be a number 1 hit in the charts. From the album, the single Meet Me On the Corner became a hit. The song was written by Rod Clemens, who had led the band in their first years and was sung by Ray Jackson. The appearance of the band on Top of the Pops was interesting: The drummer drummed with a big rubber fish… The rhythm is said to have inspired Queen in their song ’39. Meet Me On the Corner was a number 5 hit in the UK. Enjoy
