FlinterFile: Chris Montez- Let’s Dance

chris-montez-lets-dance-1962-9

The sixties saw a great deal of dances which were popular. There were the Twist, the Mashed Potato,  the Stomp, and all of these combined made a hit by Chris Montez. It was the debut single of the singer in 1962. He had a big success with it, reaching number 4 in the US and number 2 in the UK (in 1972 the song charted again in the UK, then it became number 9). The song was covered several times, for example by David Bowie and Tina Turner. On their live album they sung it as intro to Bowie’s Let’s Dance. Enjoy
