FlinterFile: Kiki Dee- Star
Kiki Dee became famous in 1976 with her song Don’t Go Breaking My Heart, which she recorded with Elton John. After this number 1 hit, it had grown a bit silent around her. She released some singles, but they didn’t become very big hits. In 1981, however, she made her comeback. Doreen Chanter, one of the Chanter Sisters, who mainly sang backing vocals for artists like Meat Loaf, Long John Baldry and Elton John, wrote the song Star for Kiki Dee. She recorded it and hit the charts again: it was a number 13 hit in the UK. In the same year, she would sing another song with Elton John, making her comeback a real hit. The song Star was later also used as theme music for Oppertunity Knocks on BBC 1. Enjoy
