Archie Bell & the Drells were a funk band, releasing three records on the Atlantic label. There’s Gonna Be A Showdown would be the last one, before they changed to the label of their song writers, Gamble & Huff. They also wrote this song, just like the rest of the album. The song was released in 1969 and hit number 36 in the UK, number 21 in the US and number 6 in the R&B charts of the US. Enjoy
