The Raiders originally started as an instrumental rock band, with Paul Revere as leader. Their first hit dated from 1965, when they got their sound to be like the British songs that dominated the charts, but with a flavour of R&B. However, there were quite some changes in their line-up in 1967 and as they kept playing their kind of songs, they got a bit out of the charts, as they didn’t move with the time. This song still did quite well, making it to number 17 in the US in 1967. Enjoy
