Originally Tommy Boyce and Bobby Hart were songwriters. They met in 1959 and the next year Tommy Boyce played guitar on a single of Bobby Hart, which flopped. The first hit they wrote was sung by Chubby Checker, but they also wrote Come A Little Bit Closer for Jay & the Americans, and later some songs for the Monkees. During that period, they also released some singles theirselves, of which I Wonder What She’s Doing Tonight, released in 1968, charted highest, number 7 in the UK, number 8 in the US. Enjoy
