FlinterFile: Sonny & Cher- Little Man
In 1966, Sonny & Cher had their biggest hit in the UK after I Got You Babe (1965).They had began a big tour through Europe, but did not have a single to promote. Sonny had written this song, a love song which could apply on the duo, as Sonny was smaller than Cher, and already recorded the instrumental in Los Angeles. On the tour, they went to the Abbey Road Studios and recorded the lyrics. They were also invited to perform on Ready, Steady, Go!, a television show in England. With cards to remember the lyrics, they sung the song and with enormous success: in the US it was number 21, in the UK number 4, but in various European countries, like Belgium, the Netherlands, Sweden and Norway, it became number 1.
