FlinterFile: The Beatles- Paperback Writer
In 1966, the Beatles had their first hit with a song which was not about love. The song was written after Paul McCartney helped to set up the Indica Bookshop. He was the first customer in the shop, too. The story is about a writer who wanted to have a publisher, who publishes paperbacks, which means the author is not that good… Several authors are mentioned, including John Lennon, who already wrote two books. Several instruments were made louder: the bass drum, with a microphone a little away from it, and the bass, which was made so loud, that there was a worry the record players could not handle it and skipped… In the end, it became a number 1 hit in both the UK and the US. Enjoy
