FlinterFile: The Yardbirds- Shapes of Things
In 1966, the Yardbirds wrote one of their greatest hits. The song was made up of a lot of ideas from all members, and all those ideas together composed the hit song. It started with a part from a Dave Brubeck song, which was changed into a marching rhythm with a text protesting against the Vietnam War. Together with the backing track, the build up in every line and the tune itself it made a big hit: number 11 in the UK and number 3 in the US. Enjoy
