In 1966, John Phillips wrote a new song for his band.As they were waiting for California Dreaming to be released, they wanted a new song to record. John Phillips promised a song with an universal appeal. And he kept his promise: the song is about the feeling when the weekend is over, a feeling everybody knows. However, with California Dreaming in the charts, this song also was played a lot on the radio and quickly became a number 1 hit in the US. It stuck to number 3 in the UK. Enjoy
