In 1989, the S’Express made their way out of the station, ready to ride! In the US number 91, in the UK number 1… The man behind the hit was a DJ, Mark Moore. He had the idea to make an eighties disco record. So what do you do? You sample Rose Royce, take some other samples, a singer (Michelle) to do the vocals, invite Chilo Harlo to speak in the intro and there you have a genuine hit for 250 pounds. That’s how you do it! However, it was played in clubs, but not on the radio. Until it went up in the charts to number 3 (UK). Then Radio 1 thought they better could play it, since it could be (and would be) a number 1 hit. Enjoy your ride on the
