In 1990, the Beautiful South had their first number 1 hit in the UK. They were formed by several members of the Housemartins, together with several other people and their old roadie. Dave Rotheray wrote the music, Paul Heaton the lyrics, which were about the other side of love, the horrible side. Dave Hemmingway and Briana Corrigan sang the song together, and as said, it became a number 1 hit in the UK. In the US, they never broke through… Enjoy
