Song of the day: Supertramp- Breakfast In America
In 1979, Supertramp released the album Breakfast in America, with the title song as a single. Roger Hodgson wrote it already before he joined Supertramp, but never recorded it. When it was about a decade old, Rick Davies told him to take the song and change it. Hodgson refused to do that, which meant the text was ready. The song was not a big hit in America, charting at 62, but in the UK it reached number 9. Enjoy

Love this album. I could listen to it over and over and practically do – at work, in the car, at home, etc. The songs sound as fresh today as when they were released. Amazing that it has been 36 years. I saw Roger Hodgson in concert and he performed every song of his from the album – Breakfast in America, Take the Long Way Home, The Logical Song, Lord is it Mine, and Child of Vision. What a show that was! Can’t wait to see him again this year. Check this out – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tODaH_fGtMY.
