Song of the day: Kraftwerk- Das Modell
In 1978, Kraftwerk released their new album Die Mensch-Maschine. One of the main singles was inspired by some models in a night club. The song tells the story of a model getting through her day. First, the song was only available in the original German version, but in 1981 the English version was included on the b-side of Computer Love (which laid the melody basis for Coldplay’s Talk), reaching number 36 in the UK. DJ’s flipped the single and this made EMI decide to release the single again (third time!), with The Model as a-side. Now it would reach number 1 in the UK. Enjoy
