Song of the day: Nilsson- Without You
The original song was from 1970, but the cover version was the real hit. The original was made by the group Badfinger in 1970. The song once actually was two songs, but from one the chorus was not good and the other had the “I can’t live, if living is without you” chorus. It was easy to decide that the two songs should be put together. The song was not a big hit, but Nilsson heard it when he was with a friend. He thought that he heard John Lennon and wanted to know which song it was. The only thing he remembered was hearing a lot of ‘you’. Only problem: there are a lot of Beatles songs with ‘you’. Then someone came with this song, which was the one he ment. The song was not as good as Nilsson thought, but then he decided to cover the song. He made it to number 1 in the US and the UK, so it was not a bad decision. Enjoy
